Canadian expatriates to the US have long lamented the bar's relative unavailability outside of Canada. Unofficial exports (originally labelled for the Canadian market) were found in some stores, like Cost Plus World Market, the Cub Foods import section, and some small stores, especially those near the Canadian border.
There was a petition at coffeecrisp.org asking Nestlé to market the Coffee Crisp in all United States cities. According to the site, its petition has succeeded, and Nestlé began marketing the Coffee Crisp nationwide in late July 2006.
As of September 2006, Nestle USA has begun distributing Coffee Crisp as one of their permanent candy bars in their stable of brands.
Coffee Crisp is also available in Australia at specialised candy stores, in particular those that import selected American candies.
As of April 2009, the marketing of the Coffee Crisp bar into the US market was discontinued by Nestle Canada. As of May 2009, Coffee Crisp was being imported into the US market by British Wholesale Imports (BWI) (www.bwi-imports.com).
